Driver:Virgil Ashe, the Stoker
Vehicle:Reliquary
Teams:The Charred
Base:1981 Hot Wheels T-Totaller

Every congregation eventually needs a vehicle for the man at the front of the procession, and the Righteous Enflamed Devotees settled on the T-Totaller with the same casual confidence they’ve applied to everything else — someone had one, it looked appropriately solemn, and nobody could think of a good reason not to use it.

Virgil Ashe has never claimed to be a priest. He has also never corrected anyone who assumes he is. As the Stoker, his official duty is tending the sacred flame on the mound. His unofficial duty is arriving at every race with the pomp and circumstance befitting “his station.”

The name was the obvious one once somebody remembered what the car actually resembles — an ornate box built to carry something the congregation has decided is sacred. Whether that’s Virgil, the flame he keeps in a sealed lantern on the dash, or just the Revival’s collective sense of self-importance depends entirely on who you ask.
